HOW TO SET Auto Shift

What is Auto Shift

Normally employee shifts are fixed and assigned weeks or month ahead. But in some companies where there are varied work schedules, the shifts can't be pre-assigned and are determined on a day-to-day basis. So its not possible to pre-assign the shifts. Our Auto Shift logic, helps in automatically assigning the shifts based on employees IN Punch time.

How it Works and How to set it

• Assume the company has 3 morning shifts (A1,A2 & A3), 3 afternoon(D1,D2 & D3) and 3 Night shifts(N1, N2 & N3) and one General Shift.
• One group of employees (Office Staff) come only in General Shift, All production staff shift are predetermined. The Packaging department shift can't be predetermined because based on necessity they would be called to work.
• What we do for the packaging department is
• Assign them any shift pattern and do the shift assignment. So shifts will be assigned for all days
• In Setup->Auto Shift Setup, we will mark their Applicable Shifts as YES. That is the packaging staff cant come in General shift and the only applicable shifts are A1,D1 & N1.
• In all these shifts (Setup - Shift Time), you should provide Auto Shift Start Time and Auto Shift End Time. That is for a Shift Starting at 06.00 in the morning the Auto Shift Start time would be 05.00 and Auto Shift End time would be 07.00. All  the applicable employees who come within these timings would be automatically assigned A1 shift.

• Make the setup as per the mentioned guidelines and enter the IN Punch in the attendance entry menu for one applicable employee. Refresh the employee by selecting him again and you will see that the Shift has been changed as per your timings.
